We are thrilled to announce a fab, new addition to our team of stylists! Allow me to introduce you to the lovely Lauren Lefevre of Edit by Lauren!
Lauren is a proud mama of boy-girl twins, and is a long-time wardrobe stylist, fashion blogger, and owner/founder of Edit by Lauren, which is a personal styling company located in Atlanta, GA, as well as Austin, TX. Lauren is also a Lucky contributor, is a member of the Southern Blog Society, and has been featured in numerous magazines, as a fashion and style authority.
I chatted with Lauren to get the full scoop about her very busy and exciting life, and here is what the talented stylist had to say:
What was your initial vision for Edit by Lauren, and how did it evolve and come to fruition?
Edit by Lauren was created out of a passion to help men and women look and feel their best, wherever they are in their life, regardless of their body-type, budget, or current life stage. This idea was born when I was in high school, and I began helping friends, family, and women in my community (most of them were twice my age!) put together new outfits out of what they already owned, and shop for the perfect pieces to compliment their lifestyle and body-type. I launched Edit by Lauren in 2008 in Atlanta, and my business has grown, primarily through word of mouth and personal referrals over the years. I expanded to Austin, TX, when my family and I relocated here in 2011.
How would you describe your personal style?
My style changes up daily, alternating from classic and preppy, to trendy, to bohemian, but always with a feminine twist. You’ll almost always see me accessorized in jewelry, and some kind of wedge, or heel.
What would you say was your go-to look when you were preggo with TWINS? And what is your go-to look now when toting them around to play dates, or running errands?
When I was preggo with my twins, my goal was to purchase as little “maternity” clothes as possible… and I accomplished it! I lived in skinny jeans (with stretch!), and leggings, paired with long tanks, and layered with long cardigans, and fitted blazers. I accessorized with lots of statement jewelry, scarves, and long necklaces, to keep my basics more interesting.
Now that I am a mom of toddlers, my “uniform” for play dates and errands (when not in my Lulu Lemon workout gear, after the gym!) is shorts (in summer), skinny jeans (in fall), with a tee or casual blouse and fun flats. I always add a pendant necklace, or scarf to add a pop of interest!
Who is your major star crush (c’mon, we all have ’em)?
Ryan Gosling. Not very original, I know, I know…
Who are your favorite style icons?
I love pretty much everything Rachel Bilson wears, Jessica Alba’s whimsical-boho looks, and Princess Kate’s polished, classic style. I always say that I want to be friends, and have play-dates with Jessica Alba, and that I would love to shop with Princess Kate.
What is on your must-have list for fall?
Ankle booties (both casual and dressy), something leather, something military-inspired, a couple of great blazers, and a few super-feminine pieces, with details like lace. I’m loving grey, and cobalt as key colors for this fall, so integrating those two shades into some wardrobe staples is a must for me.
Beauty products you can’t live without?
BB Cream (Rimmel is my fave), powder bronzer, Bobbi Brown gel liner, and a great mascara (my current obsession is Benefit They’re Real). I am also a hairspray addict!
